I tried to charge my ATS25 using a google supplied USB-C power supply and cable. This doesn't work. However, using a dumb USB-C cable does work. This implies that the CC1/CC2 pins are not wired correctly on the ATS25. This is not an unusual problem, and the Raspberry Pi 4 suffered from the same problem (https://hackaday.com/2019/07/16/explori ... -in-depth/).

If there is a respin of the board in the future, then it is probably worth fixing -- it will be one or two resistors at worst.

n1dq, Indeed, a 16-pin USB-C connector is used to charge the battery. The VBUS pin is used for charging. Therefore, only a cable similar to the supplied one works. If you have a ready-made and proven circuit using CC1 and CC2 without replacing the connector on the receiver board, then I will suggest that manufacturers add this in the following models.

Essentially you just have a 5.1k resistor to ground from CC1, and a second 5.1K resistor to ground from CC2. These are both pins on the 14-pin USB-C connector.
